The Daniel Fast

The Daniel Fast is a 21-day commitment to pursuing God through prayer and partial fasting. By giving up some of the foods we typically enjoy, we learn to find contentment in Christ alone. As we deny ourselves a few simple pleasures, we gain a greater awareness of His presence.

This modern-day practice is based on events surrounding the prophet Daniel from the Old Testament (the same Daniel who was thrown into the lions’ den). Essentially, it is a plant-based diet that excludes processed foods, added sugars and leavened breads. Read more about the origins of the Daniel Fast here.

As you seek the Lord through the Daniel Fast, you’ll not only nourish your soul, but you’ll also cleanse your body of harmful toxins. Three weeks of this nutrient-rich diet can result in many physical benefits including weight loss, increased energy levels and reduced sugar cravings.
